How is the legalization of same-sex marriage impacting societal norms in the USA?

It’s pretty awful here in the Berkeley area. People are making friends with same-sex couples here and interacting with them as if they were normal people! My kids visited the homes of schoolmates with same-sex parents without thinking it was in any way unusual! When I go out to a social event, sometimes I’m seated at a table with a same-sex couple and you know what we do? We talk about the same stuff that everyone else talks about! Pass me my smelling salts!
Gosh, what’s next? Where will this go? Will we have to start treating people with different shades of skin like normal people too?
